Frequently Asked Questions

MSL and MSM lessons are suitable for all ages, from children through to adults. Most of my students are primary aged when they start taking lessons, and come to me because their parents have concerns about their progress and/or self-confidence as learners. Secondary students are also welcome and content can be tailored to specific skills needed for this age group, as appropriate.

Consistency is key to your child's learning success. In order to make progress, a minimum of one lesson per week is required in order for your child to be able to retain, apply and build on their understanding from lesson to lesson. A more intensive approach involves multiple (2-3) lessons a week, and is useful for those with more acute learning needs or those seeking accelerated progress.

The length of enrolment at Savvy Scholars varies from child to child, and is dependent on their individual learning needs and challenges.

Savvy Scholars utilises ‘live reporting’ via a digital student portal designed to give a true and up-to-date reflection of your child’s literacy/numeracy growth. I value partnerships with whanau, and using this portal I can report back about learning progress at the end of each lesson. Additionally, parents are able to notify absences and reschedule lessons using the calendar feature.
